The Wisdom of the Patron Saint of Writers

The Wisdom of the Patron Saint of Writers
St. Francis de Sales

Today is the feast of St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of writers. He was made patron saint of writers by Pope Pius XI, in 1923. He was canonized by Pope Alexander VII in 1665, on April 8th.

Today on his feast day, I am delighted to announce that Living Echoes will be taking St. Francis de Sales as the patron saint of this newsletter and publication. May he bring us wisdom and charity from God to labor in the vineyard of the Lord to save souls, and defend the true Catholic faith and religion. May we follow in the footsteps of our patron, St. Francis, who by his writings and preaching brought 70,000+ Calvinists back into the Catholic Church; saving them from their heresy.

In honor of our illustrious patron, I will share some quotes that I highlighted from reading his famous work, Introduction to the Devout Life. It is a classic on living the Catholic faith and putting the words of the Gospel into practice. May these words of our patron, St. Francis, bring you peace and lead you to sincere penance for any sins or faults you may have.
