Feast of the Most Precious Blood

A Poem composed in honor of the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ:

Oh precious blood most holy,

Oh precious blood divine,

Oh blood that washes o'er me,

And makes me always Thine.

Oh royal blood most potent,

Oh royal blood most true,

Oh blood which bought redemption,

And binds my heart to You.

Oh living blood most noble,

Oh living blood most pure,

Oh blood which hails salvation,

And guides my steps most sure.

Oh Godly blood most loving,

Oh Godly blood most just,

Oh blood which pours out virtue,

And puts to death men’s lust.

Oh Triune blood most patient,

Oh Triune blood most wise,

Oh blood which feeds the martyrs,

And kills all Satan’s lies.

Oh gracious blood most saving,

Oh gracious blood most strong,

Oh blood which captivates me,

And moves my heart to song.

Oh humble blood most peaceful,

Oh humble blood most blessed,

Oh blood which issues freely,

And gives my soul its rest.

Oh greatest blood most kingly,

Oh greatest blood most sweet,

Oh blood which all grace carries,

And sin and death defeats.
